Flavoured water for the hot and humid days—36 degrees Celcius—I just want to strip and stand in front of a mist fan. But since that wasn’t entirely feasible…I had to resort to another heat remedy:

DIY flavoured water

water + dried mix herbs + orange slices + lemon concentrate…popped into the freezer for 30 minutes = healthy summer drink

So I’ve been MIA from Tumblr since joining Pinterest » the ultra lazy way of ‘blogging’. It’s Tumblr and Twitter combined. Repost. Repost. Scroll. Repost. Comment. Repost. Scroll [repeat for the next three hours, or until all posts start to look the same].

Life seems slightly brighter the past week/s. I’m forcing myself to get up 1/2 hour early to chill and stretch everyday.

Just got a new responsibility at work, which I’m so keen to get going — filming and editing promos! It’s been too long since I’ve made any videos.

Funnily enough blogging, and cleaning, seems like the best ‘productive’ task in the world when you have important stuff to do. Ha.

But, when inspired, write.

I borrowed out a bunch of professional development books (ie. Help I don’t know what to do with my life books), and will take a life break this weekend to ponder.

House situation is still ngeh. The diva continues to prance and squawk around the house. Same old same old. Rent is cheap. Neighbours are lovely—old school, looking after each others’ gardens while the other’s away…that kinda thing. Location is ok—super brownie points for being a two minute walk away from work—if it weren’t for that, I’d move out in a heartbeat.

Ok, that’s enough for now. Back to importantstuffImustdo.

Crafty Sunday

Ok, so I got inspired last night by this. Instructions seemed simple enough. Couldn’t stop thinking about it all night…after hours on Pinterest…no kidding.

Chose this shirt to sacrifice, free tee from a bar, size XL men. I’m an S.

*note depression my thumb from the scissors

Ren Arial Sano took 20 mins. I took 20 mins just to cut the t-shirt thanks to my Ikea crafty scissors (yes yes a good carpenter never blames his tools).

Weaving was my fave bit.

Then there was sewing. Not a big fan. I hate threading needles.

Had the ‘everything will just fit fiiiiiiiine’. Until I realised the shirt didn’t look as fab in front because it was overly oversized. Pinned the sleeves. Tied it up with some scrap fabric. We’ll see if I ever wear this shirt anywhere else but the beach. (I had high expectations hoping for a mall to club top…oh well)

Lessons learnt:

Pick a top that’s max two sizes larger than your regular size (unless you’re amazing at darting and etc, go for it)
Keep trying the shirt on throughout the process—something I didn’t do which I regretted.
Don’t always follow instructions. Similar to cooking…it’s up to your personal taste…and the source of ingredients vary.

In short:

Crafting time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Overall satisfaction: nyeeeeh. Not quite.

I’m going to make a scarf now with the scrap fabric and lick my wounds.

Thank goodness Monday is over. GRRRRR. But, I still wanna smack something with a hairbrush. Or, I’ll just let this little girl do it for me.

Still grumpy.

The fat man with his large sports bag, reading a book and elbowing me in the ribs and hip throughout the fucking one hour bus ride home (especially when I fell asleep in the middle of rush hour traffic he wakes me up with a jab). You had the fucking aisle seat. WTF?

Note to self, pick aisle seats during rush hour. At least then, you get to pick who you seat next to. ie. person who thinks he needs to flap his wings to read a book. PFFT.

I had the deepest scowl on the way home.

Didn’t help it was Monday.

And blah blah, little things I can’t quite, and don’t want, to remember that annoyed me throughout the day.

RAGE.

#2 pet peeve. People who call me on Skype without warning. My 512RAM laptop can’t handle your spontaneity!

Best Sunday ever. Well, as far as I can remember.

Free InDesign workshop at The Edge. Absolutely love the free digital creative space. Wanted to work there ever since I stepped into the place. The place is like a fricking digital playground!

+ scored two free design magazines. WIN. New reading material.

Random wonder to the city to get a piercing which was nearly a heartbreaking experience. I couldn’t get my nose re-pierced as the spot looked slightly red [I may, or may not have tried to re-pierce it a few nights ago…lalala]. So I got something else done. Not before I was told to get something to eat / drink and coming back after. gah.

Bumped into friends who were selling their stuff at Suitcase Rummage (flea market concept—only catch is, you have sell everything out of a suitcase/sprawled all over a mat, and no tables allowed). Ended up buying a shirt for 2 bucks [Picture taken by a vendor since she didn’t have a mirror]. Stuff this round was pretty good. But since I was trying to reduce my belongings…I refrained from making any more purchases (oh, the pain!).

Spotted a pair of Melissas by Vivienne Westwood, slightly worn and with obvious scratches, would’ve paid 20 bucks for it max. Turns out the chick was selling it at $120 -,- no sale, lady. no sale.

Being Elmo - A Puppeteer’s Journey.

I loveeeee Elmo! He is the highlight of my Friday mornings. I’m still amused that Elmo gets emails. And his interview with Rove was super cute. It kept me going in the editing lab at 3 am, around this time last year.

OT/ annoyed that Cookie Monster now has to eat broccoli -,- because of uptight parents / whoever it is that blames obesity on a muppet! pfft.

Thanks brandonsetter for posting this up. Wouldn’t have heard of the doco otherwise!

The lifestyle here is killing me.

Sure there are things to do…in faraway places. Actually, not that far…more like a seven minute drive. But with the bus, you’re lucky if it takes half an hour. So a one hour commute to hang out for one hour? I don’t think so. Oh, and the last bus is at 11pm. So if you’re feeling restless at 8.30pm…forget about going out unless your friends take 1 minute to decide and say ‘yes, meet you there in half an hour’ and mean it, (not showing up two hours late)

It’s times like these when I miss the lepak kat mamak lifestyle. Hanging out at 24 hour eateries, talking about everything and anything, bumping into familiar faces throughout the night, and then spontaneously adjourning to a new venue. That’s the lifestyle.
